It's been a wild start to the new year for Rockford with tons of businesses announcing store openings and closures.  Now, a local business in Forest Plaza announced they're relocating just a mile down the road.

After Payless ShoeSource in Forest Plaza went completely out of business in 2019, The Pottery Lounge opened up shop inside the vacant space in January of 2021.

On Facebook, I saw the shop just announce they are relocating from 6059 E. State Street to 312 N. Alpine Road in Rockford on February 1st, 2024.

This relocation comes after the news broke that Stone Eagle is closing this February and Furry Babies inside CherryVale Mall officially shut down.  Thankfully, The Pottery Lounge is only relocating and not closing their doors!

Now, I'm wondering what will occupy the space at Forest Plaza...  thoughts?
