When I moved to Rockford a little less than a year ago I got some serious backlash from friends and family.  I was asked, "You aren't seriously going to move there are you;" "Isn't it just as dangerous as Chicago;" and "You better get a gun." I laughed it off because of course I knew what I was getting myself into moving here. I did my research, asked questions and continue to educate myself on this city. It's no different than moving anywhere else; every city and town has their issues but if you have street smarts, mind your own business and at least "look the part," you shouldn't have any issues.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that this young couple from Arizona that moved to Chicago to "explore life" didn't do their research and are just a little wet behind the ears.

According to Fox 32 Chicago, Jaelin and Brianna White were financially secure enough to pack up their bags, head to the Windy City and just see what happens.  According to a video posted to their YouTube channel, they were only in town for a day when Jaelin was assaulted by a complete stranger. It was that assault that prompted them to move back to Arizona the next day.

Check out their story and see if you think it's made up or not.

If you were able to make it through the entire video, maybe even just the first three minutes, do you think this story is legit? Did they make the right choice by moving? Or should they have given it a little more time?
