Illinois Campus Quad Named Among America’s Most Beautiful

If you've been to college, one of the best parts of the experience is usually happening somewhere inside the quad.

Architectural Digest defines the quad, or quadrangle, as the heart of the school, a lush green space typically encircled by academic buildings or student residences. It's a unique feature that sets each campus apart.

Even the most modest universities and colleges have their version of a quad, each with its charm and character. It's a testament to each campus's diversity and individuality.

That said, some quads are more beautiful than others.

I'm saying there are some places better to study, congregate, eat, play guitar, hacky sack, and more.

Conde Nast Traveler includes an Illinois school on their list of the Most Beautiful College Quads in the US.

Considering how prestigious this university is, I can't say that I am the least bit surprised.

The University of Chicago's quad is so stunning that it was likened to an actual botanic garden. Henry Ives Cobb, a renowned Chicago architect, designed this picturesque space as a testament to his skill and vision.

Given the University of Chicago's stringent admission criteria, which typically require a 4.0 GPA or higher, the presence of an extraordinary quad is not surprising. It's just one of the many aspects that make this institution unique.

That said, there are plenty of other beautiful quads at Illinois universities across the state, particularly at the University of Illinois and Illinois State University.

Northwestern University in Evanston is another school with a great quad. College Rank called it the 23rd best in America.
