Rockford Chipotle Customers, Keep an Eye on Your Bank Accounts
Last Thursday I had the best day. It started with work, followed by a workout and then I had the most amazing facial at Xeno Salon and Day Spa; it also just happened to be cheat meal day. Guess what I had? A delicious; regret free steak burrito bowl from Chipotle.
It was regret free at the time; now not so much. And it has nothing to do with that burrito bowl coming back to haunt me and my digestive tract; it has to do with the fact that I just happened to use my credit card during the time frame in which Chipotle's payment system was hacked.
WGN says the company "detected unauthorized activity" on their network that supports the payment system and they're focusing on transactions that were made between March 24th and April 18th.
A personal friend of mine believes they've already fallen victim as her and her boyfriend's debit cards were used on websites that they've never even been on before. Ever heard of CreateSpace? My friends have never been interested in self-publishing books, DVDs or CDs.
