He bought his ticket on the app, and when he got an email notification that he had won something from the Midday drawing, he totally thought it was a scam (I mean, can you blame him?!).

Even after checking the winning numbers, seeing his numbers matched—14, 22, 23, 32, 36—and calling the Illinois Lottery to verify, he still wasn't convinced.

Instead of claiming the prize right away, he went to the golf course to hit a few balls, and it finally hit him: he really did win!  He shared, "tears came to my eyes.  It was incredibly moving."

The moral of the story?  That email might not be a spam email after all.  You never know when you'll be the next Illinois Lottery winner!
