Rockford Park District is Offering Winter Activities For Kids
When 2020 pandemic boredom struck kids back in the Summer or Fall, it was easy to just tell the kids to go play outside. But now that we're in the brute on Winter, you might need some help keeping the kids busy. Especially with all that's going on with e-learning and "adaptive pauses".
The Rockford Park District is offering COVID-friendly Winter activities for kids that you should totally take advantage of. They announced several new programs and activities that will help local kids and families stay active during the coldest months of the year.
Here's some of the fun activities they're offering according to WTVO -
Throughout the winter, at Lockwood Park and Atwood Park visitors will be able to enjoy wagon rides, parking lot bingo, and drive-in movie nights. Snow Park at Alpine Hills is set to re-open in the next few weeks for tubing, snowboarding, and a new outdoor ice skating rink.
They've got A TON of fun stuff planned for the Winter months in the 815. Starting in January, free playground programs will also be offered on Saturday afternoons at Brown Park and Wantz Park.
