Rockford Police Warn to Prepare Your Home for Burglary Season

The holiday season is exciting, and also incredibly busy. We've got parties to go to, shopping to get done and it seems like we're never at home; something thieves know all too well.

Stateline police forces say they see an uptick in the number of home burglaries happening during the months of November and December, and the time to protect our home and belongings is now. Thankfully, there are some simple things we can do to protect our homes according to this report from WIFR.

When I was a child, our home was burglarized because my family had been gone all day and no lights were left on. Since that day, my parents have never left home without leaving some indoor lights on, and neither have I.
