Rockford Residents Inspire Your Summer Fun ‘To Do’ List

Here in Illinois we only get about 5 months of nice weather, so if you're anything like me you've learned to make the most of those months.

The warm weather months seem to fly right on by while the dreaded winter months seem to go on forever. I asked Rockford folks what they are most looking forward to this summer and I got some great answers. A few have even inspired me to make some plans. You better too because it won't be too long. "Winter is coming."

• Going "Up North" or to the "Northwoods".
• Chicago sporting events. Chicago Cubs, Sox and Chicago Fire.
• Bonfires, drinks, drinks, and more drinks. (Did I say drinks?)
• Landscaping and gardening projects.
• Sleeping in. Relaxing mornings. Not having to rush around getting the kids ready for school.
• Lakes, fishing, boating, swimming, and all things water.
• Camping.

• Vacations and summer road trips. Disney anyone?
• Spending time with family and friends and making new memories.
• Outdoor concerts galore. OSD, Country Thunder, and Summerfest, oh my.
• Hiking and Biking. So many cool trails to do those things right around here.
