Rockford’s First ‘Solar Plunge’ Hits Magic Waters
You've heard of the Polar Plunge, but this summer we're getting the Solar Plunge!
The Polar Plunge pops by Rockford each February and March with a chance for you to jump in a frozen lake in order to raise money for Special Olympics.
And let me tell you from experience, IT'S COLD.
So maybe in the past, you've skipped on the plunging before and donated to someone who's brave enough to do the frozen lake thing.
Now's your chance to get in on the plunging with the Solar Plunge.
Magic Waters is now part of Six Flags so the plunge will be taking place both at Hurricane Harbor and Magic Waters, next Friday, June 21.
According to marketing supervisor, Rachel Kendziora, 'we are teaming up with the Special Olympics to host Magic Waters’ first ever Solar Plunge to celebrate the summer solstice! Starting at 9am, participants who engaged in fundraising efforts will be invited to “take the plunge” in our wave pool. While the wave pool will not be cooler than normal, it will be even more exciting to plunge with the Special Olympics! Following the plunge, there will be an exclusive slide time on three of our thrilling tube slides from 9:30-10:30am before the park opens to the public.'
She also mentions a sweet prize pack and t-shirt before they head to Tsunami Bay.
