Rockford’s Five ‘Best Father’s Day Brunch’ Spots

I never thought about until today, but Mother's Day isn't the only special day for a good brunch outing.

I guess, brunch is good anytime of year but it seems more set aside for Easter, Mother's Day, and now Father's Day.

What if you don't know where to go for Father's Day Brunch? Well, with some help from Yelp! here are the five "Best Father's Day Brunch" spots in Rockford.

1. GreenFire Restaurant Bar & Bakery - 6795 East Riverside Boulevard.

Nice  'upscale' bar restaurant with a variety of food options.

2. Thunder Bay Grille - 7652 Potatwatomi Trail.

The friendly staff promptly started the meal with bread sticks and biscuits with some sort of cinnamon butter.

3. The Illinois Machine Shed - 7475 East State Street.

Some people might compare it to Cracker Barrel, and I guess there is a similarity, but Machine Shed is better, in my opinion.

4. Stone Eagle Tavern - 6445 East State Street.

For our main meal (yes we ordered and ate more) my wife ordered the chicken apricot and brie cheese sandwich with a side of sauteed brussel sprouts, and cheesy fries.

5. Stockholm Inn - 2420 Charles Street.

Obviously, the breakfast is rightly trumpeted -- best swedish pancakes, orange juice, egg benedicts, and skillets around.
