Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair’s ‘Cruel Intentions’ Reunion
Sarah Michelle Gellar, Reese Witherspoon and Selma Blair made fans of late '90s teen movies very happy last night (May 29), when they posted some Cruel Intentions reunion pics to Instagram — and reenacted an iconic moment from the film.
The three actresses were on a group outing to attend the The Unauthorized Musical Parody Of Cruel Intentions in Los Angeles (so meta!). Sarah, Reese and Selma all shared the photo evidence on their Instagram accounts and, as Selma's caption sums it up, it was the "best girls night out." Then they all climbed into a classic black Jaguar, speeding up the motorway while blasting The Verve's "Bitter Sweet Symphony" and thinking about Ryan Phillippe. Just kidding! Reese probably rarely thinks about Ryan Phillippe anymore.
The three of them also took a selfie inside the theater. Since we all have a seemingly bottomless appetite for "then and now" comparisons, it must give many people comfort that the stars of the 1999 film look virtually the same — ultimately fluffing up our collective hopes that aging is optional, and maybe we'll all find a way to live forever. But for real, they look perfect.
Because Sarah Michelle Gellar seems like a super fun, awesome human (BUFFY FOREVER), she decided to recreate her infamous "kissing lessons" scene with her former costar. Selma approached the situation with an open mind and an open mouth. A bold choice.
You can check out a few more snaps below — including one of Reese sort-of-rudely photobombing the performance — and if you're in the L.A. area you can try to wrangle some tickets here.
