Why People Are Already Shopping For Valentine’s Day In Illinois

I've noticed something lately, and I kind of love it.  Valentine's Day doesn't feel like it's just for couples anymore.  More and more people are celebrating it with friends, family, coworkers, kids, and sometimes solo!

Valentine's Day used to feel like a "couples" day to go all out, like if you weren't coupled up, it could feel awkward, lonely, or a reminder of what you don't have.  Now, it's a whole different vibe and I'm here for it.

Why People Are Already Shopping For Valentine's Day In Illinois

Now we've got Galentine's dinners, family movie nights, Valentine's baskets for kids, and friends exchanging gifts just because!  Love isn't being boxed into one romantic relationship anymore. nope.  It's spread beyond that!

Retailers are taking full advantage, too.  Once Christmas and New Years ended, I started seeing tons of Valentine's Day stuff on the shelves.  They wasted no time!  Stores barely finished clearing out the Christmas decorations before the pink, red, and heart-covered everything shows up.  Sometimes it feels like you're still digesting holiday cookies while staring at a shelf full of overpriced teddy bears and chocolate hearts.

We're already shopping for Valentine's Day because it's more about thoughtful experiences and gifts, and not just flowers and a box of chocolates that nobody likes.  The earlier we shop, the more time we have to go back and forth on what we really want to get our people.  I've already started shopping and it's actually nice to not procrastinate for once in my life.  Make sure you know what your loved one like, don't be that person grabbing a generic card and call it a day.  Put some effort in!
