If you didn't have a fear of sinkholes before, wait until you see what this woman found when she went to her car in a Lincoln Park neighborhood in Illinois.

I am deathly afraid of sinkholes.  I am definitely not one to say I am afraid of every little thing, but when it comes to gaping holes in the Earth... yeah I am terrified.  At the very top of my irrational fears list, sinkholes sit at #1.

After the tragic story surfaced about a Florida man getting sucked into a massive sinkhole that swallowed him alive while he slept, his story affected so many people around the world.

This woman in Chicago parked her car in a Lincoln Park neighborhood and came back a few hours later to find the back half of her car in a sinkhole.

New way to get the perfect parking job, aye? Just kidding.

The woman said her family has lived in this area pretty much their entire lives and they always thought it was strange that a basement was underneath their parking lot area.

After seeing the records from previous inspections, the building failed to pass inspection.  Go figure!  The tenants could have told you that years ago! No wonder the entire neighborhood is on edge after seeing the ground split right beneath them.

Though sinkholes are not common in Illinois, it is still very concerning because there is always a chance more sinkholes could pop up around the area.

This is why I refuse to move to Florida!!!  I will not risk my chances of getting eaten alive.  Obviously there is a very low chance it will happen to me, but honestly I will not take that small chance.  Even if I see potholes this small, I don't like it. NOPE.
