World’s Steepest Dive Coaster To Debut At Six Flags Great America
A new legend is about to rise at Six Flags Great America, the undisputed Thrill Capital of the Midwest. A beast of a roller coaster, unlike any other, has been unleashed from the depths of imagination.
Record-Breaking Dive Coaster to Debut at Six Flags Great America
Towering at a breathtaking 180 feet, the Wrath of Rakshasa promises to rewrite the very definition of thrill. This isn’t just another ride; it's a heart-stopping journey that dares to challenge even the bravest souls with the world's steepest drop and the most inversions ever seen on a dive coaster.
Picture this: You’re strapped in, your pulse racing as the coaster inches upward, every second amplifying the anticipation. Then, silence.
The world seems to pause as you hang at the brink, suspended over a sheer drop that plunges 96 degrees into oblivion. The cliffhanger hold keeps you teetering on the edge, face-first, staring down 171 feet of pure adrenaline.
And then, in an instant, you’re hurtling downward at breakneck speed, defying gravity and logic as you twist through five bone-chilling inversions, racing through 3,239 feet of twisted steel at nearly 67 miles per hour.
The Wrath of Rakshasa isn’t just a ride; it’s a confrontation with fear, a battle of wills between you and the forces of nature.
I will hold your things while sitting on a bench waiting for your return. I think I no longer have what it takes to brave this beast.
"Six Flags Great America has never shied away from pushing the boundaries of thrill and innovation," declares Park President John Krajnak. "With Wrath of Rakshasa, we’re taking it to a whole new level, cementing our legacy as the home of record-breaking roller coasters and unparalleled excitement."
The Wrath of Rakshasa is not just another ride; it’s a custom-engineered beast, meticulously crafted by the legendary Bolliger & Mabillard, with three sleek trains, each seating 21 riders across three rows. It's a spectacle of engineering and exhilaration, destined to become a fan-favorite alongside classics like The Demon.
What is Rakshasa?
Rakshasas were most often depicted as shape-shifting, fierce-looking, enormous monstrous-looking creatures, with two fangs protruding from the top of the mouth and sharp, claw-like fingernails.
They were shown as being mean, growling beasts, and as insatiable man-eaters that could smell the scent of human flesh.

Six Flags Great America is celebrating this monumental addition with its Biggest Sale of the Year. For a limited time, you can snag tickets, passes, and more at up to 70% off.
The countdown has begun; the Wrath of Rakshasa will make its thunderous debut in 2025 in the County Fair section of the park, a stone’s throw from the legendary Demon. Will you be ready to face the wrath?
