
Iconic Illinois Theme Park Makes Decision On Opening Day
A surefire sign that summer is right around the corner is when Six Flags Great America in Gurnee announces its opening day.

So you know what that means. Yes, we're getting closer to warmer weather and summer fun, which usually goes hand in hand with Six Flags.
Great America will officially open for the summer on Friday, April 18. The park will then be open on Saturday and Sunday, April 19 and 20.

After that, and for the next few weekends, Great America will be open only on weekends.

Friday, May 9, Six Flags will add a third "weekend" day to their schedule.
The following week, they will add a Thursday, May 15, and then on Monday, May 26, the park will be open seven days a week until the school year begins in August.
If a trip to Six Flags Great America isn't enough to jazz you up, they are adding a new ride in 2025.
It's called the Wrath of Rakshasha. With top speeds of 67 miles per hour and a 171-foot drop, it sounds like a hair-raising thrill ride.
With Six Flags Great America getting ready for another season and a heart-pounding new roller coaster coming soon, summer in Illinois is already shaping up to be one wild ride.
