It's a well known fact that shortage of vital medical supplies is a huge problem during this unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.

We can all be thankful to medical staff for their hard work and for literally putting their lives on the line each time they step foot into the hospital, but what they really need right now is something most of us cannot provide...personal protection equipment, or PPE.

Several businesses in Rockford have been shuttered due to Illinois' shelter-in-place order, and several of these businesses' employees use PPE daily, which is currently sitting unused, and SwedishAmerican really needs it to keep hospital staff and patients safe.

According to mystateline.com;

SwedishAmerican President and CEO Tim Flynn said, “Hospitals need the help of their communities to support the work that we’re all trying to do. Nationally, there’s a shortage. Locally there’s a shortage. And, in many cases, other partners in the industry can help to support the work that we’re doing, even while they’re slowing down on their own.

If you have access to new, unexpired and unused PPE like N-95 masks, goggles, face shields, disposable gowns and cleaning wipes, PLEASE drop them off at the E State St. entrance of SwedishAmerican Hospital anytime Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Together we WILL make it through this. Stay safe, stay home, stay healthy.
