Congratulations, Christy James from Parker Early Education Center in Machesney Park, Illinois.

Kelly Hinck nominated Christy, she writes,

"Lunch Lady of the Week" - Christy James is a true treasure in our school community and has been a favorite lunch lady for years. She first won over my husband, who—even though he brought his own lunch—never missed the chance to stop by her line for a cookie and a smile. Now, as my kids walk through the lunch line each day, I know Christy was just as excited to greet them on their first day of school as they were to see her familiar face.

Even though my kids don’t always share much about their school day, the joy in their voices when they mention Christy says it all. Beyond the lunchroom, she has generously supported school fundraisers and continues to show her kindness in countless ways, making her a beloved part of both our school and our family’s story.

Christy has "served" our community for 3 generations. It was an honor to spend a few minutes on the phone with this remarkable soul. Listen to our conversation below.
