If you're a history buff, you missed out an incredible event here in Rockford this past weekend.

The World War II Historical Re-Enactment Society was in Rockford last week for four days starting Thursday, September 22 through the Sunday, September 25.

Based on the photos I've seen, this isn't some run of the mill operation. It looked like all of Midway Village had been turned into camps and battlefields.

There was even a USO dance on Saturday night. Some of the video that came from the event is pretty amazing. The best, in my opinion, is below.

If you missed out this year, don't worry about it. It appears that this is a yearly thing at Midway Village.
