There’s a Good Chance You Haven’t Eaten at Illinois’ ‘Best Pizza Joint’

I'm a big fan of food. Heck, I talk to you every day about restaurants and some of the phenomenal dishes they serve up.

I've said it before too. I have no problems hopping in the car (or getting on a plane) in order to try some of the best food on earth.

So when I found LoveFood talking about each state in America and their best pizza joints, I was completely intrigued.

I mean, I have tried nearly every Rockford pizza joint imaginable so I was hoping it might be a place out here that was picked to rep the state. I also grew up in Chicago and I hit up plenty of pizza places during my time there too.

Turns out, it was a Chicago pizza joint that got the top nod from LoveFood. It's just a place that I have never heard of until today.

Bob's Pizza in Chicago has to be doing something right. After all, they have three Chicago area locations and now they've been crowned as having the best pizza joints in the entire state.

It (Bob's Pizza) serves thin, chewy and crispy pizza loaded with toppings and created by Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef Matt Wilde. Its Pickle Pizza (topped with Italian lunch meat, garlic cream and dill pickles) and Spinach Pesto Stracciatella (topped with prosciutto, sun-dried tomatoes, arugula and lemon) are its star items.

Seems like the love LoveFood gave Bob's Pizza is well deserved. Facebook users call it "so good," "perfect" and "top quality."
