Things To Do While Waiting In A Waiting Room

I'm not on the air today as I am in Chicago with my wife. As much as I love visiting the city I grew up in, this trip isn't all that much fun. My mother-in-law is here to have open heart surgery.

Like most people, I find things like this pretty difficult. So much time waiting and hoping for the best all the while needing something to take your mind off the situation at hand. I have also never sat in a waiting room for an extended period of time. So I had to figure out what I was gonna do. I started with "Threes".

Give it a try. Think "Tetris" meets multiplication tables. Despite the simplistic nature of "Threes," it's pretty challenging.

I don't want you to think that this is the only thing I am doing during my waiting room experience. I am spending time with my other in-laws and family members.

But when I need a moment and need to get caught up, I go here.

Matter of fact, I go here even when I'm not in a waiting room. Reddit.com is where all internet memes and funny pictures you see on Twitter or Facebook start...and usually end.

This guy also put together a pretty hilarious list of things to do while in a waiting room too. My favorite is ask the doctor for a beer. I might just do it.

As far as my mother-in-law goes, she made it through surgery just fine and should have a full recovery. I think I'll teach her how to play "Threes".
