Tiny Airbnb Dubbed Illinois’ Most Memorable Overnight Stay
If you've done the weekend getaways in cabins and hotels and maybe, just maybe, you're looking for something to switch it all up, you're in luck.
Because Love Exploring dropped a new list of the places to Stay in Your State for a Night to Remember, and Illinois' "home" is a doozy.

That's because it barely counts as home. Don't get me wrong, at first, it wasn't a home, it was a school bus. Still with me? OK, hear me out.
Located (or parked) at the Shawnee National Forest, about as far south as you can possibly get in Illinois and still remain in the state, sits what used to be a school bus that has been converted to a home.
School trips have never been so luxurious. This repurposed school bus has been transformed into a cute and cozy retreat with a double bed at the back plus a kitchenette and sofa. It’s solar-powered with an outhouse, a (cold water) outdoor shower, and a fire pit.
The Airbnb listing of the school bus calls it "ultimate glamping" and "bliss in the heart of the Shawnee National Forst on Interwoven Permaculture Farm, in Lusk Creek Wilderness."
If the idea of roughing it is too much, this place seems like the perfect in-between. Kyle stayed at the school bus home and called it an "incredible experience" while Jennifer said, "this place is far more magical than you can even imagine."
I'm down for incredible and magical experiences, are you? Check for availability of the school bus house HERE.
