To blot or not to blot, that is the question we face every time we grab a slice.

Pizza, it's a wonderful food. It has all of your food groups. It's cheesy and saucy, but for the most part, it's not good for you. Especially if you are ordering it loaded up with meats and extra cheeses.

When we grab a slice we are faced with a choice. Do you blot the grease off or just chow down at the slice in its natural form.

It's been a while since I blotted a pizza slice, but when I was in junior high is was super trendy and I would blot, blot, blot, every single chance I got.

Was I saving any calories? Apparently I was.

Lab Door's chart says that we save about 5 grams of fat and 40 calories for each slice we blot before we eat.

That might not seem like a lot if you only eat one piece of pizza a year, but I mean, who in the world only eats one piece of pizza each year? Not me that's for sure.

Maybe it's time to go back to blotting.
