The food is not cheap

Yes, I am fully aware that fair food is never budget-friendly, but it felt like everything was way overpriced.  After a giant corn dog, a few lemonades, and spinach puff, my wallet was screaming at me to stop.  If everything was a little bit more affordable, I would've tried more foods but I just couldn't.  Maybe next year!

Wear walking shoes.  Real, durable shoes.

The Wisconsin State Fair is massive.  It was a never-ending festival, I swear!  I wore platform sneakers, and let me tell you... big mistake.  If you plan on being at the Fair for hours, make sure to wear really comfy shoes that will hold up all day.  If you try to wear "cutesy" shoes, your feet will probably be bleeding by the end of the day!

Still, despite the high prices on food and sore feet, it was really fun!  One of the best festivals I've been to in the Midwest, no lie.  It has the be the biggest because I got lost several times and don't think I even saw half the attractions because it's so big.
