Around 6 p.m. Monday night 85-year-old Patricia Wilson and her 64-year-old son Robert Wilson were found in their home on Old State Road. Blunt force trauma appears to be the cause of death, according to investigators who spoke with wgntv.com.

The killer appears to have broken into the home and possibly used a nearby bike path and that's where investigators are focusing. In a news conference yesterday (8/16), authorities say they are searching for the Patricia's missing car. It's a 4-door Chevy Impala with Illinois registration 903 0980, according to wrex.com

Police are asking residents of Sycamore to keep their windows and doors locked and to pay extra attention to their surrounding until an arrest has been made.

If you witnessed any suspicious activity on or near that bike path or have any other information that may be helpful to the investigation contact the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Department at 815-895-2155 or Crime Stoppers at 815-895-3272.
