Hot Air Balloon In Sycamore Narrowly Misses Hitting Homes

Video has surfaced a close call incident of a hot air balloon that came very close to crashing and police are looking for the public's help.

Sycamore Police on Wednesday asked for the public's assistance in locating the balloon that flew over the north part of town in the late afternoon hours. On social media, the Sycamore PD posted:

Request for Assistance *** Our department is seeking anyone who may have video of the incident involving the hot air balloon which flew over the Heron Creek Subdivision on 6/5/19. If anyone has video of this incident, please contact the Sycamore Police Department 815-895-3435. Thank you!

The photo was taken by Sycamore resident Natalie Meisner who told me that picture was taken behind a field off Lindgren Rd. Video has also surfaced of the balloon flying over Sycamore..

Initial reports to police and fire indicated that the yellow hot air balloon balloon had crashed near the Sycamore water tower, but it was later seen flying in the air.
