Wow! This Abandoned Illinois Burger King Has An Awesome Classic Interior
There aren't many classic style Burger Kings around anymore, but there is one in Palatine, Illinois. It's abandoned, but it's still standing!
I don't know why looking at abandoned restaurants interests me as much as it does. Maybe knowing these places were once packed with families and now they're deserted sparks my curiosity even more. Let's take a look at this classic BK!
As you can see in the distance, there's a McDonald's with a parking lot and drive thru packed with cars. Maybe they took Burger King out of business?
Haha, look at that - they're hiring! Not actually, but during the time they were closing they apparently needed employees. I also see a McDonald's cup on that trash can... how long do you think that has been sitting there?
This is where you would stand in line to order. Very small waiting area, but all the appliances look in pretty good shape!
The entrance doesn't have handles on the outside of the doors, so no trespassers are able to enter the establishment.
WOW! Look at this dining area! The wallpaper is just screaming old school. Doesn't seem like they updated it in a really long time, too.
Kinda has a slight retro look to it

The other side of the dining area is also in really good condition. The tables remind me a lot of my childhood walking in to get food and climbing onto the swivel seats.
So this is like probably a 70's style Burger King

I guess they had one last interview and left all the binders and employee packets behind. In a hurry or what?

Probably one of the better Burger Kings I've found here

Want to grab food but too lazy to walk in? Their drive thru might not be the best option. It looks pretty busted, the menu board is literally falling out of the frame.
Around the corner we have this beautiful one-lane drive thru.
Surprisingly, the drive thru window is still in tact.
Inside look of the employee drive thru station and kitchen area.
And finally a wider outside view of the abandoned Burger King.
I never found the reason this Burger King closed down, all we really know is that it was condemned and it hasn't been touched since. Maybe it'll make a comeback and rise above McDonald's across the street, who knows.
