Following the announcements by RPS 205 and the Harlem School District that a temporary switch to remote learning was being made through the holidays, many families are on a mad scramble to re-work schedules. It is something my family is working through right now, and it ain't easy to figure out.

Parents have to work, and many don't have the luxury of being able to work from home, so what do we do? We take advantage of programs like this from the YMCA of Rock River Valley, that's what we do.

From November 30 through December 18, 2020, the YMCA of Rock River Valley will be offering full time day care/remote learning assistance for working families in RPS 205 and  the Harlem School District. You just drop your kids off manned with all the materials they need to do their school work for the day, and Y staff members will take care of the rest.

According to the Y's websitestudents in this program "will be supported in their remote learning materials, while also engaging in enrichment activities, such as: active games, STEM, arts & crafts, etc."

The Y's Day Care Program will run Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and has half and full week options.

Yes, there is a fee for your kids to attend this program, but when your back's against the corner, it's a great option to have.
