Retail stores opening on Thanksgiving night was trendy for a minute or two. Now it's going in the complete opposite direction.

This year, more stores than ever are opting to stay closed on Thanksgiving. Citing "letting employees spend time with family" as the reason.

Do you buy it? Is it something else? I get the idea of the good will gesture but there is always a reason and I've yet to figure it out.

On the heels of 23 Rockford area stores closed on Thanksgiving and the announcement of the CherryVale Mall's closure here are 15 more according to Best Black Friday:
