This latest 'Best Schools' survey from U.S. News and World Report ranked school snationally and state-by-state. See what schools made the list.

U.S News and World Report just released their annual ranking of the best high school in America. In addition, they also released rankings for each state. School on the list include, public, private, charter and magnet schools. Two Stateline schools made their list. Before we get those schools, we have to answer the big question,

How did U.S. News and World Report determine these rankings?

Some of he methodology used included,

  • How schools performed on state-required tests
  • Graduation rate
  • How well the schools prepare students for college

Alright, let's get to the good stuff. What area schools made U.S. News and World Reports list

Hononegah High School, in Rockton, was ranked #76 in the survey of Illinois High Schools and #1 for Rockford, IL metro high schools. In the national rankings, Hononegah came in at #1703

Auburn High School, in Rockford, was the next area school to make the list at #148.
