2020 Dixon Petunia Festival Has Been Postponed
We're all hoping to break out of our COVID-19 quarantine by the beginning of June, but the reality is, large summer events will likely not happen in 2020.
The Rockton Lions Club has already cancelled 2020's Old Settlers Days scheduled for June 18-21.
The Village of Winnebago announced the cancellation of their 2020 4th of July fireworks display over the weekend, and now there's the postponement of Dixon's Petunia Festival originally scheduled for July 2-5.
If you're looking for the silver lining of this sad announcement, maybe you can find solace in the fact that at this point Petunia Festival has been POSTPONED not CANCELLED for 2020?
A statement on Dixon Petunia Festival's website says;
The 2020 Petunia Festival has been postponed until further notice. The decision to postpone the festival was not an easy one. Just as when we plan the Petunia Festival each year, your safety comes first. We hope to be able to celebrate sometime this late summer or early fall as we want to help do our part to keep everyone safe and healthy through this time.
National recording acts have been cancelled for the safety and well-being of all.
Much love to you all for your continued support through the years. Continue to follow us on social media for updates, information and virtual fun!
Please wear your masks in public and continue to practice social distancing! That is the only real way we'll stop this virus monster, and get back to normal, summer fun!
