Making your own frosting at home doesn't have to be difficult. 

You can make frosting from scratch with just four ingredients and five minutes.

I always make my own frosting, mostly because I like playing with the flavors, but also I think frosting from a can is difficult to spread and decorate with.

Generally, I make buttercream frosting, which includes butter (obviously), powdered sugar, vanilla and cream. It can be a time commitment and requires a mixer.

This recipe doesn't require a mixer and is so super quick and easy, but still homemade.

You will need:

  • One cup of milk
  • One teaspoon vanilla
  • One 8 oz container of Cool Whip
  • One box of vanilla instant pudding (or chocolate, if you want chocolate pudding)

Mix milk, pudding and vanilla until smooth. Fold in Cool Whip. Then you're done.
