As Hurricane Harvey continues to wreak havoc on Texas many are left displaced from flooded and torn apart homes and are in need of help.

A generous group of volunteers from Illinois are headed to Texas to help Harvey's victims.

WREX picked up a story from their affiliate in Quincy, Illinois that group of volunteers from the area were packing and preparing for their trip to Texas to help provide relief through the Red Cross.

In fact, "hundreds of volunteers from across the country and including Illinois will be heading towards the storm. [They] will assist in sheltering and evacuating those still in the area as well as any food assistance. Red Cross says they'll likely send hundreds more volunteers over the coming weeks."

If you'd like to do something, but are unable to head to Texas as a volunteer, here are some ways to help.

- Donate to the Red Cross. Visit their website  by clicking here. Or you can call or text the Red Cross your monetary donation at "1-800-RED-CROSS or texting the word HARVEY to 90999 to make a $10 donation." (WGN).

Donations can also be made to the Salvation Army by visiting their website or calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY.
