I hate to blame the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for this, but I don't have anyone else to point fingers at.

I'm not saying that this hasn't been a thing for some time; nowadays, just about half of all movies have some kind of end-credit scene.

One of my earliest recollections of an end-credit scene was in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

That was super clever at the time, and I can't even begin to tell you how excited I was about the future of the MCU after the end-credit scene of the first Iron Man movie in 2008.

Now, we eagerly sit and wait through every movie, our anticipation building as we expect there to be an end-credit scene.

By the way, my youngest son refers to these as "cut scenes," and he never fails to make me smile with that line because it's just so darn cute.

We just sat through 10-12 minutes of credits for the end scene of Inside Out 2, which thankfully had a little something at the end.

However, A Quiet Place: Day One left us hanging, as it did not feature any end-credit scenes.

I didn't see the new Quiet Place prequel, and while I'm sure I eventually will, I was made aware of the lack of end-credit scene by this photo posted on Reddit.

My movie theater has a sign for end credits

It appears a movie theater posted:

"Is there an end credit scene?"

The poster listed each movie at their respective theater and answered "yes" or "no" for each film.

Getting that at AMC Showplace 16 here in Rockford would be fantastic.
