On Saturday, April 5th from 9:30AM to 4:30PM, kids can get access to the Discovery Center for just $5.29 and the first 400 kids will receive a piggy bank they can decorate and take home! This is a way to spread the word that it's the perfect time to start saving for your child's future.
Why April 5th Is An Important Day For Kids In Rockford, Illinois
Sometimes, parents, especially new parents, don't know when to start saving for their child's college fund. Parenthood doesn't come with a handbook, so giving families an outlet and resources to prepare early is amazing!
“The best time to start saving for college is yesterday. The second-best time to start saving is today,” Frerichs said. “If a child knows they have a college savings plan, they are three times more likely to attend college. We hope parents will walk away from this event learning about the importance of saving at an early age. By saving with a Bright Start 529 plan, families can prepare for the cost of higher education.”
