Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial kickoff to summer—trust me, this weekend's lineup of event in Rockford is going to keep you very busy!

Usually, most people just grill out in their backyard with friends and family for Memorial Day weekend, which is what I'll probably be doing with my family.  My dad makes ribs, burgers, shish kabobs, and I bring macaroni salad and coleslaw—the best side dishes ever.  Change my mind!

Obviously, Rockford City Market is officially back for the season in downtown Rockford.  Live music, food trucks, local vendors, and a great time with friends.  It'll be packed Friday, so get there early to find a good spot!
