Get A Taste: Tamales, Cocktails, & Live Music In Downtown Rockford

Like they always say, the way to our hearts is through our stomachs.  Restaurants and bars around Rockford know to make us love them is by giving us food.  They're putting it to the test this weekend!

First off, tons of pizza places are selling heart-shaped pizzas to celebrate this lovely day.  Primo's, Gerry's Pizza, Lou Malnati's, and Giordano's just to name a few!

Shattered is having an "Anti-Valentine's Day" party, Whiskey's Roadhouse has a dinner special for two, and a lot of friends are simply having Galentine's Day parties to celebrate their friendships!  What's a party without food, though?

Over at CJ's Public House, they won me over with one word: Tamales.

Friday, 2/14 and Saturday, 2/15, you can get tamales from Gto Tamales, cocktails at the bar, and listen to live music down at CJ's if you're still needing weekend plans!  I'm a sucker for Mexican food, and tamales sound so damn good.

Not everyone has a place to go on holidays, and having a place to go, like local bars around town, is a great way to meet new people, make a new love connection, and have a great night with good energy.
