Bergner's at the CherryVale Mall just closed up shop, right?

Well, the correct answer is "yes." Bon-Ton, the parent company of Bergner's, did indeed liquidate all of their stores across the U.S. and permanently closed up shop at the CherryVale Mall on August 29.

However, "CSC Generation bought Bon-Ton's trademarks for $900,000 in bankruptcy court and relaunched the chains over the weekend" according to Eyewitness News.

So that means, Bergner's is indeed coming back, right? Well, kind of. While Bergner's was "relaunched" as an online-only store when CSC bought the trademarks from Bon-Ton there's a slight chance we might see Bergner's come back as a "brick and mortar" location too.

USA Today says CSC Generation is "in advanced discussions with landlords about reopening stores in Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania.''

They also hope to bring back former Bergner's employees to fill positions at the new/old stores. Perfect timing too. Bringing back old employees, with a new company behind the Bergner's brand could yield great results this holiday season.

If it comes back to CherryVale Mall, that's a whole other thing. We'll just have to wait and see.
