Chowhound Names This Wisconsin Burger Joint #1—Have You Tried It?
Summer road trips are powered by playlists, questionable gas station coffee, and snacks, and one universal truth: there's always time for a great burger. So when I saw a new list naming the best burger in Wisconsin, I knew my next detour was decided.
Wisconsin's Best Burger? I've Got a New Road Trip Destination
According to Chowhound, there are over 80,000 burger joints across the U.S. That's a ridiculous number of buns, beef, and bragging rights. So naturally, the real question is: who's doing it best?
For Wisconsin, Chowhound says it's AJ Bombers in Milwaukee, and somehow, this burger-loving Cheesehead has never been there. I know, I'm questioning some of my life choices right now.
What Makes AJ Bombers Stand Out?

The signature "Classic AJ" comes stacked with two quarter-pound patties, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, and their Bombers sauce. Sounds like a solid option for a purist. But if you want to get wild, there's a Pizza Burger with garlic-tossed buns and pepperoni pizza toppings, or even a turkey burger with muenster and toasted fennel seeds. Milwaukee, you've got my attention.
Rockford Burgers Still Reign Local
I've had some solid burgers around Milwaukee, but now I've got a new one to chase. And with summer road trip season basically here, AJ Bombers just made my list of must-visit mouthfuls. (Also: I see you Buddy's Burgers and Baker Street Burgers in Rockford, you're still local royalty in my book.)

Time to Add This Stop to Your Summer Map
If your travels take you north this summer, maybe skip the gas station sub and make a pit stop in Milwaukee instead. Wisconsin knows its way around a grill, and I'm ready to see if AJ Bombers lives up to the hype, one juicy bite at a time.
