The city's most popular deli has been announced, and if you live outside of Chicago, you might need to visit the city to try it out.

That's because Taste of Home, in its Best Deli in Every State, called Manny's Cafeteria & Delicatessen the best deli experience in Chicago.

I guess Taste of Home only decided to look inside the Windy City for great delis because it's a little short-sighted.

I'm not saying Manny's doesn't deserve the honor, but we all know Illinois is more than just Chicago.

With a rich history spanning over 60 years, Manny's has been a staple in Chicago, serving up homestyle meats, cheese, salads, pastries, and blintzes to locals.

Moreover, Manny's boasts a diverse menu of sandwiches, including the Chazzer, a delightful combination of pastrami, corned beef, coleslaw, and mustard, as praised by Taste of Home.

Despite my misgivings regarding Taste of Home's selection process, they seem to have made a good choice in Manny's.

Reviewers agree on Manny's Cafeteria & Delicatessen, too.

Rated a 4 out of on Yelp, customers call the food "amazing" and employees "wonderful."

Some bemoaned the price, saying they had had "far better versions of the food" elsewhere at "much better prices."

While Manny's is undeniably a top contender, my personal preference leans towards Pinnon's in Rockford and the unassuming yet exceptional Deli Italia.

For now, you can visit Manny's Cafeteria & Delicatessen at 1141 South Jefferson Street in Chicago.

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
