Careful Rockford – There’s a Home Depot Fan Recall For Blades Flying Off
If there's one thing I know for sure, it's that the LAST thing 2020 needs is ceiling flans with blades flying off. However, sounds pretty fitting for this year right? Well, if you have a ceiling fan from Home Depot, you need to make sure your's isn't being recalled.
According to new reports, there's been issues with the Hampton Bay 54-inch Mara Indoor/Outdoor fans, sold only at Home Depot from April to October 2020. The fan cost about $150 and if the blades do end up coming off they could seriously hurt you. And like I said, I think that's the last thing any of us need this year.
Over 190,000 ceiling fans are being recalled because the blades have flown off during operation. Here's some information you need to see if your fan is one of the recalled fans.
The recalled fans came in three finishes:
- matte white (UPC No. 082392519186)
- matte black (UPC No. 082392519193)
- black (UPC No. 082392599195)
- polished nickel UPC No. 082392599188)
So what do you do if you have one? Well, first things first, make sure it stays turned off. If you can take it down yourself you can. But then you can actually get a free replacement from the distributor of the fans King of Fans.
