Celebrate National Burger Day With Rockford’s Five Best Burger Joints

If you're going to celebrate National Burger Day, I suppose you should do it in style.

Now, before you check out the list, be aware that some of these places might not be open right now due to the coronavirus, but hey, it's worth remembering these are the best in town.

I enlisted the help of Yelp to dole out the five best places for a burger in Rockford.

5. The Detour - 1920 East Riverside Boulevard, Loves Park.

I've never been to The Detour before but if it's one of the best in Rockford, I'm going to have to try it out.

4. Stockyard Rock Burger Bar - 908 West Riverside Boulevard, Rockford.

Just like The Detour, I haven't tried Stockyard Rock Burger Bar either. The reviews though sound real good.

3. Baker Street Burgers - 1603 North Alpine Road, Rockford.

Yes, I did try Baker Street Burgers. Good stuff. Soooo much cheese.

2. 15th & Chris - 201 15th Avenue, Rockford.

One of the all-time best burger places in Rockford and the United States.

1. Buddy's Burgers - 6551 East Riverside Boulevard, Rockford.

Hey, they named a limited-time burger after me. Buddy's Burgers must be doing something right.

Interesting that three of the best burger joints in the Rockford area are on Riverside Boulevard.

For my money, I'd go with 15th & Chris #1 followed closely by Buddy's Burgers at #2.
