Illinois Gets New Cheesecake Factory, Just Not Rockford

It appears that The Cheesecake Factory has announced the opening of a new restaurant in Illinois.

The Cheesecake Factory Is Expanding in Illinois

Reports indicate that the new Cheesecake Factory will open on June 17 at Block 59, a stretch in Naperville that is home to numerous trendy restaurants, some of which are so fabulous that we can only dream of one day seeing them in Rockford.

Why not, right? We just got a Raising Cane's last week, so we might as well keep going with fancy dining.

What’s on the Menu? Basically Everything

The Cheesecake Factory isn't exactly Raising Cane's, though, as they offer a menu that is chock-full of options, with over 250 different items to order, along with 30-plus cheesecake flavors.

I shouldn't be upset, after all, we have Olive Garden breadsticks.

Just an Hour Away from Rockford, But Still a Drive

It's not like we can't get Cheesecake Factory if we wanted to, you need to drive about an hour or so to Schaumburg to a location that's already open for a slice of Dulce de Leche.

Otherwise, I can have a pizza puff from Uncle Nick's.

The real question, though, is that eventually, you'd have to think Rockford is on Cheesecake Factory's list of cities they'd expand to, correct?

Is there room at Forest Plaza or anywhere else on East State Street?

Never mind me, I'm just complaining, albeit loudly. We do have some great local joints that I am absolutely totally fine with.

We’re Fine, Really. Totally Fine.

But I'm not going to lie, it would be nice every now and then to feel like a piece of suburban royalty and get one of these Cheesecake Factory-type joints in town.

Until then I'll soak up my tears in Cane's sauce.
