Is your order from Chipotle a burrito bowl? Well, you might want to think twice next time. A new study is showing that the fiber bowls Chipotle serves their burrito bowls in contains chemicals linked to cancer.

Fox details -

According to their study, the bowls are treated with PFAS, also known as “forever chemicals,” which help the bowls hold hot, wet and greasy foods. This may be bad news because the EPA said those compounds don’t break down in the human body – and can accumulate over time. Not only that, but the chemicals can seep into soil as the bowls break down, leading to toxic compost.

Yikes. So obviously Chipotle has made a statement. Here's what they had to say -

“We are committed to using safe and sustainable food packaging and only partner with suppliers who make fluorochemical sciences and food safety a top priority. These suppliers operate under strict guidelines set forth by the FDA, and have all provided chipotle with certification that all raw material and finished pulp products fully meet regulatory requirements.”

Sounds like a lot of big words to me.  Personally, I still ate at Chipotle when they had their E-Coli scandal. But I REALLY like Chipotle. So I'm not going to tell you to stop eating there, it's completely up to you. But hey, the more you know right?
