It's no secret that Rockford is in a bit of a mess right now. Crime is high, morale is low, and it's time to do something about it.

We have a better chance of making change happen when we take matters into our own hands, and by that I mean reporting suspicious behavior to authorities and standing up and speaking out about things that matter most to us.

This is exactly what the Fatherhood Encouragement Project is hoping to do later this month in one of Rockford's roughest neighborhoods.

If you would like to be a part of this Adopt A Block event on April 21st, here's a few things you need to know:

  • The cleanup with begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018 and last until about 2 p.m.
  • Volunteers will meet at the District 2 Police Station and walk to the Rockford Neighborhood between 10th and 12th Avenues & 7th to 9th Streets.
  • Children are welcome
  • Lunch and water will be provided
  • You must sign-up in advance to participate. Click here for more information.
