Cougar Spotted Roaming in Belvidere & Rockford Backyards

While cougars (AKA mountain lions) haven't roamed Illinois since the 1870s, sightings of the vicious cat are still confirmed. Check out this photo taken in Belvidere.

The most recent cougar sighting happened Monday night. Residents thought they were looking at a fox until they got a little closer. Once they realized what it REALLY was, they did what anyone would do...

This cougar was spotted near the intersection of Beaver Valley and Squaw Prairie roads in Belvidere.

If you live in this area, it might be a good idea to let the dog pee in the front yard.
