Congratulations to Katherine Larrabee from Meehan Elementary School in Belvidere, Illinois
Angela Magallanes nominated Katherine, she writes,

We have been blessed to have Mrs. Larrabee be our son's teacher this year. My son was diagnosed on the spectrum and at times struggles with focusing or dealing with meltdowns when he is overwhelmed. Mrs. Larrabee has shown throughout the year a willingness to find ways to guide our son in learning and making it fun. It takes a special person to understand and have compassion for any and all students and Mrs. Larrabee is a prime example of this type of person. Recently, the school had a spring concert, and though we can’t predict how our son may feel until the time comes, as soon as she saw him, she welcomed him with open arms to join the class. Although overwhelmed, with the help of three special ladies, we got to see our son participate in this year’s musical. He started on the side of the class and halfway through, he ended up joining the class on stage. This was possible because the teachers NEVER give up and are always willing to lend a guiding hand. Thank you, Mrs. Larrabee, for all you do not only for our son, but for all students.

**I understand this is only for one teacher of the week, but if at all possible, I would also like to thank Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Flynn. These two have been in our son's life since Kindergarten. Although it has its ups and downs, our son continues to learn how to be confident thanks to the time they give him.

What a blessing it is to have the opportunity to hear humans tell the story of when they found their purpose in this life, week after week. Listen to Katherine's story below.
