After a year off, the Rockford Airfest returns featuring the Air Force Thunderbirds this weekend at the Chicago Rockford International Airport. Before you pack up the family this weekend and head out, be sure you are up to speed with everything Rockford Airfest.

For starters, the gates open at 9 am, the show begins at 11 am and gates close at 5 pm.

Tickets are by the car load this year and cost $20 in advance; at the gate its $30. Save money and pick up your pass right now.

Coolers aren't allowed inside the grounds at Airfest. Food and drinks are also not allowed inside but parents are allowed to bring in water for use with formula for small children. If there is excessive heat this weekend check back to RockfordAirfest.com for more information.

Folding chairs are allowed inside show grounds for Rockford Airfest. If you don't have one or happen to forget, you can rent them during the show.

A couple other quick things to know before the show. Yes, you can bring in your own camera. Yes, there is an ATM. Yes, there will be a First Aid tent and yes, you should bring hearing protection. It can get pretty loud in there!

Unfortunately, pets are asked to sit out this years Airfest. They can stay home with the bikes, and skateboards. They are also not allowed on show grounds.

Finally, Current and former military personnel with proper identification will receive free preferred seating.
