This sounds like it would be quite a stretch, but a Louisiana coroner, assigned to the case, is standing by their ruling.

Here comes the story of the first ever death from THC in the U.S.. St. John the Baptist, Louisiana Coroner Dr. Christy Montegut, declared an unnamed 39-year-old woman's death was caused  by a THC overdose.

THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is the active ingredient in marijuana.

“I’m thinking this lady must have vaped this THC oil and got a high level in her system and (it) made her stop breathing, like a respiratory failure, Montegut, who has served as coroner since 1988, told The Advocate.”

There are many experts who disagree with this declaration, including the National Institute on Drug Abuse, according to wqad.com. the institute says, there are no reports of teens or adults dying solely from marijuana.
