Popular Loves Park Bar and Grill Opening 2nd Location in October
Some might find it strange for a bar to open another location just 2 miles down the same road, but not once you see what they have planned.
Business is Growing in Loves Park
In the last year, business along Riverside Boulevard, east of Mulford, has been booming. Several new places to eat, sip, shop, gamble or improve your life in some way, and I'm here for ALL of it. What's even more remarkable is the growth in this corridor from existing Rockford area businesses, that are opening additional locations.
In the last year, Cantina Tacos opened another location and the owners of The Pomodoro are set to open an additional place for their ghost-kitchen Baked Wings brand. A Rockford area staple, Tom & Jerry's, just broke ground on another spot on E. Riverside Blvd, right between a new Chipotle and a new Starbucks that recently opened.
More Big Food, Drink, and Fun Upgrades Coming to Loves Park
Via their Facebook page, Fozzy's Bar & Grill just shared the details of the new expansion they've been hinting about for a few weeks.
Fozzy's Bar & Grill Taking Over The Skybox at Mercyhelath Sportscore 2 Indoor Sports Center
My wife and I eat at Fozzy's often and the food is fantastic, which was not the case the one and only time we ate at The Skybox, so this is really good news. We don't live too far from the Indoor Sports Center at 8800 E Riverside Blvd, and our kids have activities there often.

What we really liked about The Skybox were the golf simulators and Fozzy's owners, Michelle and Nick Fosberg, confirmed they are staying. They have plans for golf leagues and since it's all indoors, charity golf outings can happen all year round. Live music will become part of regular summer entertainment at Fozzy's Skybox location, outside on their large patio that overlooks all of the sports fields.
The best part of Michelle and Nick's Facebook announcement is the planned October 14th soft opening. The menu will be limited for a couple of weeks to get new staff and the kitchen fine-tuned and then, as the Fosberg's said,
It's go time!
We found a couple of things on the menu during our first visit to Fozzy's and we've had a hard time ordering something different, but when we do, we have never been disappointed with our meals. More good news, the menu will be pretty much the same at both locations. Trust me on the Rodeo burger, the Wisconsin cheese curds, and any of the flatbreads.
If you're interested in becoming part of the Fozzy family, they're still hiring, reviewing applications, and conducting interviews. Visit https://fozzys.net/application/ details.
