No need to take photos of your child with your phone in 'portrait' mode for their 2020/2021 school pics. Check out this opportunity.

eLearning is no reason for Beloit students to miss out on beloved 'Picture Day'. The Beloit Public Library has come to the rescue for all families of any Beloit student in grades PreK-12. I think this opportunity is even better than what is usually offered at school. At school, I'd always hear my parents in my head telling me to keep my clothes and my hair looking good all day until it was picture-taking time. That's a really tough task... even as an adult.

On four separate days in February, you can book a five-minute session for each child on the day that works best for you. Here are those days and times:

  • Friday, Feb. 5 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Saturday, Feb. 6 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Friday, Feb. 12 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Saturday, Feb. 13 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER. This is extremely important. You can register through the library's website.

Every child will get one professional photo sitting, one 8-by-10-inch photograph, and one sheet of wallet-size photos taken by photographer Amanda Reseburg of Type A Images. The photos will then be available for pickup at the library starting on March 16. There will also be an online opportunity to buy more photos.

Steve Shannon is host of The Steve Shannon Show on 97ZOK. On the air weekday mornings from 6 to 10 a.m. and a special 'Rewind' show, featuring favorite moments from previous shows, on Saturday mornings from 5 to 7 a.m.. Follow him on Twitter, Instagram, and like his page on Facebook.
